HOW THE PHOTO CONTEST WORKS
- Every other Monday will have a BirdSpotter photo challenge, telling you what kind of photo we want to see.
- Upload your best pic and start voting! Each contest category runs from Monday through midnight the following Thursday.
- There will be two photo winners every other week: one photo that received the most votes and one “Judges’ Choice.” Winners are announced every other Friday and will be entered to win the Grand Prize! Wayne Art Center, RAdnor Bird Town and Audubon pennsylvania are proud to present an exhibition and educational programs honoring winged creatures.
THe 5 B’s exhibition – birds, bees, butterflies, bats and bugs, March 29 – May 9, 2015. For immediate release WAYNE, PA – February 25, 2015 – Several conservation minded organizations from the community are involved and in support of The 5 B’s exhibition and programming. Wayne Art Center has partnered with Audubon Pennsylvania and Radnor Bird Town and with the help of Radnor Memorial Library, Jenkins Arboretum & Gardens, Radnor Middle School and Radnor Conservancy. Nearly 30 events and programs of the 5 B’s will take place throughout the township and be made available to all who take an interest in the local environment as it pertains to the avian and insect world.
Wayne Art Center will present an exhibition featuring works depicting Birds, Bees, Butterflies, Bats and Bugs. The show will include two and three-dimensional juried works that will commence with an artist reception on Sunday, March 29, 3:00 – 5:00 pm. The exhibition held in the Davenport Gallery will include ceramics, metal, jewelry, glass, fiber, wood, paintings, works on paper and photography. Works are for sale. Jurors, Perky Edgerton and Brian Meunier will select artwork and award winners. Awards of $2,000 will be presented at the opening reception.
Radnor Bird Town and Audubon Pennsylvania will be offering informative lectures and demonstrations that will bring light to issues surrounding the winged and crawling creatures of our natural world that play a vital role in the health of our ecosystem. By doing so, they help create a culture of conservation where everyone is a potential steward of nature in his/her backyard and beyond.
There will be weekly storytelling at Radnor Memorial Library for young children as well as themed art workshops and other hands-on activities to engage children of various ages at the Wayne Art Center, Radnor Memorial Library and Jenkins Arboretum & Gardens.

UPDATE: GREAT BACKYARD BIRD COUNT JANUARY 31st!!
Update on the GBBC date. We originally posted that it would be February 1st. However, the real date is January 31st. So stop by the Radnor Library Winsor room to get you and your family involved with the National Audubon Society and the Great Backyard Bird Count! It is a great way to learn about birds and science.
Steve Saffier from the PA Audubon Society will be at the Radnor Library on January 31st, but if you are interested in a sneak peak about what the Great Backyard Birdcount is then head over to the Birdcount website for more information!
